The BBC is reporting that the Midlands saw the fastest growth in house prices up to the end of 2017. See the article here
“I can understand that house prices have increased, this has been due to the scarcity of properties on the housing market and specifically in certain areas where we are in Walsall and this is particularly relevant to the South Walsall area, where house prices have increased probably more than has been indicated in this report.
Even though house prices have increased significantly, we are aware that wages have not kept up with the pace of house prices at all and in some cases the majority of employees have received little or no pay rise and inflation is currently at approximately 3%. I would consider that in the near future house prices could stall and plateau, especially if there were more properties on the market”
commented Andrew Perrin, Director at Fraser Wood.
