It’s always nice to put a face to a name so over the forthcoming months we are going to introduce you to some of the team here at Fraser Wood, Walsall’s leading Estate Agents & Chartered Surveyors.
Next up is Director Stephen.
When did you join Fraser Wood?
I joined the Company after University on 14th September 1992. The date was memorable not only because it was my first full time job, but two days after I started it was “Black Wednesday”, when interest rates rose to 15%!
What is your Role within Fraser Wood?
I am a Chartered Surveyor, having qualified over 20 years ago, and one of the Directors of the Company. While I still deal with some residential property matters, the majority of my time is spent looking at and valuing commercial premises, including shops, offices and industrial units, for sale and to let, for rent review and lease renewal purposes, as well as providing written Reports for a wide range of private clients and a number of the High Street Banks.
What is the best part about your job?
The variety. I much prefer being out and about, looking at properties and meeting clients, rather than stuck in the office. The job allows me to do this and no two days are the same. You can be looking at a Studio flat in the morning and valuing a multi-million pound industrial unit in the afternoon!
Interests outside of work?
I live and work in Walsall with my wife and two daughters. If you had asked me this question five years ago, I would have said playing sport, including football and cricket, although, unfortunately, I am now more of an armchair sportsman (dodgy knees!) I also enjoy reading and socialising, time permitting.
