Our local town of Walsall has been renowned for its leather works for many years – being called the Leather capital of the world in the 20th century! After all, that’s why our football team are called the Saddlers! If you take a walk along Bradford Street you can see the sculpture representing the leather saddlery industry for yourself.
Did you also know that Launer have a Royal warrant for their leather goods, produced by skilled workers in their Walsall factory, supplying distinctive handbags to Her Majesty the Queen! Luxury comes at a price though - check out their website www.launer.com
If you want to know a whole lot more about Walsall Leather why not spend some time visting Walsall Leather Museum in Littleton Street West, Walsall which was opened by HRH The Princess Royal in 1988.
